A GLOSSARY OF TERMS


BIG 6-BIG 8

Even money bet that wins if a 6 or 8 are rolled by the shooter before a 7.


COME-OUT ROLL
The first roll of the dice, this roll wins on all Pass-line bets with a 7 or 11 and Loses on 2-3 or 12.


CRAP-OUT

A roll of 2-3 or 12 on the come out roll / resulting in a loss for all bets placed on the Pass-Line.


BOXMAN
The croupier in charge of the game / responsible for making sure all bets are placed correctly/ paid correctly and all the rules adhered to.


CENTER-BET

Also known as a Proposition bet, a bet that the shooter will roll a specific number or numbers on the next roll.


COME-BET
Even money bet similar to the Pass-Line bet/ that is made after the Come-Out roll, you can make new Come-Bets after each roll.


BUY-BET

Similar to a Place Numbers Bet, but it pays true odds, and you must pay a 5% commission to the house.


DON’T-COME-BET
Even money bet similar to the Don’t-Pass bet, which is made after the Come-Out roll, you can make new Don’t-Come-Bets after each roll.


DON’T-PASS-BET

Even money bet that the shooter will roll 2-3 or 12 on the Come-Out roll or seven out before making the point.


DON’T-PLACE-NUMBERS-BET
This bet wins if a 7 appears before the shooter rolls a particular number, this bet can be placed against a 4-5-6-9 or 10.


EVEN-MONEY-BET

A bet that pays out an equal amount to the amount bet 10 dollars would pay 10 dollars.


FREE-ODDS-BET
A bet that pays true odds, and can be made in addition to an original Pass/Don’t-Pass or Come/Don’t-Come bet. You can make free-odds bets after the point has been made on the come-out roll.


FIELD-BET

A bet that the shooter will roll 2-3-4-9-10-11 or 12 the next roll of the dice.


HARDWAY-BET
A center bet that wins if the shooter rolls a specific number with doubles (e.g. a total of 8 with a 4 showing on each of the die.


LAY-BET

A bet similar to the Don’t-Place-Numbers bet, that pays true odds. And you must pay a 5% commission to the house.


NATURAL
A roll of 7 or 11 on the Come-Out roll, resulting in a win for all Pass-Line bets.


SHOOTER

The punter at the craps game whose turn it is to roll the dice.


PASS-LINE-BET
Even money bet that the shooter will roll 7 or 11 on the Come-Out roll or make the Point before Severing Out


POINT

The number rolled on the Come-Out roll (except a 2-3-7-11 or 12) that is marked as the Point. This number would be a 4-5-6-8-9 or 10. The shooter continues until he rolls the Point a second time or rolls a 7 and 7s out. This determines all winner and losers on Line bets.


PLACE-NUMBER-BETS
This bet wins only if a particular number shows before the shooter rolls a 7. The bet can be placed on 4-5-6-9 or 10.


STICKMAN

The croupier responsible for talking up the game/booking bets/ and controlling the dice.


BASEMAN
The croupiers responsible for paying and taking all winning or losing bets.


WRONG-BETTING

Betting on the Don’t- Pass Line (against the dice) that the shooter will roll Craps or Seven Out before he rolls a natural or sevens Out.
