The origins of this game is uncertain, some believe it came from France during the reign of King Charles VIII in the year 1470, others suggest that the game came out of Italy in the year 1500.


Either way, the game was first known as Chemin De Fer (The Iron Road) in France and northern Europe and Punto Banco (White Point) in Spain and the Mediterranean countries. The banker is obviously favoured by the drawing rules of the cards, therefore the banker wins more often than the player. This is why the banker pays 5% commission on all winning bets.

Face cards and 10's count as zero

Ace counts as one
All the other cards count as face value.

For example:
The player has Ace & 3

The banker has 10 & 2.
The player has a total of 4 and the banker has a total of 2

The player draws a third card and its a 4
The banker draws a third card and its an 8

The Result: The player wins 8 over Baccarat,(in this context, 'Baccarat') means zero(0).


At the start of the game both the player and the banker will be given two cards,a third card may or may not be giving determined by the chart below.

8-9 ____________________Natural

Having:

3 Draws when giving 0-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-9 Does not draw when giving -8
4 Draws when giving 2-3-4-5-6-7 Does not draw when giving 0-1-8-9

5 Draws when giving 4-5-6-7 Does not draw when giving 0-1-2-3-8-9
6 Draws when giving 6-7 Does not draw when giving 0-1-2-3-4-5-8-9

7 STANDS
8-9 NATURAL
